You should have made your way here from the always amazing blog of Karen McAlpine! If not, head back HERE to start from the beginning! AND, now onto this month's theme:
I do enjoy a card with lots of great layers! To me, layers does not just constitute paper, but often textures as well! =) So I featured one of my favorite DeNami stamps using both colored layers, dry embossing, twine, stitching, and glitter to add different textures:
The J109 Happy Birthday Cake is one of my all time favorite stamps, and so I stamped this image, die cut the circle, added coloring and glitter elements, inked the edges with Shabby Shutters Distress Ink, and then stitched around the edge with pink baker's twine. The stitching is a little wonky, but with a whimsical stamp like this I think it adds a fun and funky dimension! =)
I also added a colored cardstock strip containing some PP that I had in my stash. Before adhering down the circle, I added more baker's twine (you can NEVER have enough of that!) I also love this background, which I dry embossed and then inked with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. Finally, I finished the card with some Fruit Punch Stickles and a little more stitching on the bottom! =)
Hopefully, this project gives you some ideas for how to use layers on your future projects with DeNami stamps! And now, hop forth for more magnificent inspiration from the blog of Annette Holleger! Thanks for hopping along! =D
